Ascent Technology Privacy Statement

Ascent Technology values your privacy and is committed protecting your personal information. This Ascent Technology Privacy Statement describes Ascent Technology's practices when it enables your organization to gain access to Ascent Technology's products and solutions in environments managed by Ascent Technology. It also describes Ascent Technology's practices delivering services associated with its products and solutions to your organization.

Ascent Technology treats your personal information in accordance with the Ascent Technology Privacy Statement and the terms of the license agreement, grant of rights, subscription agreement, hosting agreement, or other contractual arrangement between Ascent Technology and your organization. Unless otherwise specified in the license agreement, grant of rights, subscription agreement, hosting agreement, or other contractual agreement, personal information and other data you enter in Ascent Technology's products and solutions are owned and controlled by your organization, and not by Ascent Technology. When a hosting arrangement ends, Ascent Technology transfers all stored data to your organization or, if your organization prefers, destroys all stored data.

Ascent Technology does not collect or use your personal information for commercial purposes, such as the creation of mailing or telemarketing lists, nor does Ascent Technology provide your personal information to other parties, except to comply with legal and regulatory-retention requirements. Ascent Technology does not sell your personal information.

Ascent Technology uses commercially reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect the information you enter in Ascent Technology's products and solutions from theft and fraud. For example, Ascent Technology requires your organization to manage user accounts responsibly, assigning unique usernames and removing accounts of inactive or terminated users promptly. In addition, Ascent Technology requires your organization to assign particular permissions and roles that allow users to execute particular functions in Ascent Technology products and solutions. Ascent Technology requires your organization's users to safeguard their usernames and passwords and to enter only their own unique usernames and passwords in the products and solutions in order to gain access. Ascent Technology's products and solutions store data in secure, encrypted Oracle databases, and use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption protocol to protect links between web servers and browsers.

The Ascent Technology support team may view your personal information when providing services to your organization. For example, members of the support team may see your personal information when viewing images attached to support-request tickets; monitoring system performance; providing support, maintenance, and other services; and developing, testing, and installing patches, upgrades, and new versions of programs. Ascent Technology controls access to your personal information through specific permissions or roles Ascent Technology assigns to its employees who provide services to your organization. Ascent Technology ensures its employees are aware of Ascent Technology's security and privacy practices and understand their obligations to comply with written confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements and with company policies concerning protection of confidential information.

Although Ascent Technology uses physical, administrative, and technical measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, no data security measures can be guaranteed to be completely effective.

Unless otherwise specified in the license agreement, grant of rights, subscription agreement, hosting agreement, or other contractual arrangement between Ascent Technology and your organization, Ascent Technology hosts its servers in secure, limited-access third-party facilities located in the United States of America. Ascent Technology's support team and its development, testing, and support-request ticket systems are also located in the United States of America. If you gain access to Ascent Technology's hosted products, solutions, and services from the European Economic Area, the UK, Canada, or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from United States laws, be aware that you may be transferring personal information to the United States. The United States does not have the same data protection laws as the European Economic Area, the UK, Canada, and other regions. By providing personal information to Ascent Technology, you expressly consent to having your personal information transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States or another jurisdiction that may not offer the same level of privacy protection as those in the country in which you reside or are a citizen. You also expressly consent to having your personal information used in accordance with the Ascent Technology Privacy Statement.

For your convenience, Ascent Technology's web-enabled products and solutions may contain links to third-party web sites and applications Ascent Technology does not own or operate. Your use of third-party links and applications is subject to the privacy policies of the third parties; you should become familiar with the third-party privacy policies before you use the links and applications. Ascent Technology is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of third-party web sites. The Ascent Technology Privacy Statement does not apply to your activities or to any information you disclose while interacting with third-party web sites.
